City Of Waco Wetlands Workday

Mission:
The Lake Waco Wetlands were constructed as a habitat mitigation project that began as a result of raising the level of Lake Waco by 7 feet. The wetlands function to provide habitat for native species, to help "clean" water, and to provide educational programs and science-based activities for visitors.
Volunteer Duties:
General cleanup of the wetlands
Volunteer Requirements:
Wear appropriate outdoor clothing, such as closed-toed shoes, and be prepared to bring sunscreen and other items.
Training:
All necessary training will be provided on-site.
Time Commitment:
Any time commitment is welcomed, but volunteering must be scheduled ahead of time.
Group Volunteering:
Groups are welcome, but must be scheduled ahead of time.
Recommended For:
Students in the fields of biology, ecology and more
Benefits:
Volunteers gain hands-on experiences in the biological and environmental sciences in a wetland environment while enjoying the outdoors.
