McLennan Athletics hosting Halloween night activities

The McLennan Community College Athletics department will host an evening of free, family-friendly activities this Halloween beginning with its annual Trunk or Treat event Oct. 31 from 5-6:30 p.m. in Parking Lot E outside The Highlands gym on the MCC campus, 1400 College Dr.

Families and fans are encouraged to continue the night at McLennan Madness, celebrating the start of the 2023-24 athletics year, beginning at 7 p.m. in The Highlands gym. The event will feature free t-shirts and a fan costume contest with fun prizes, along with introductions of the men’s and women’s basketball teams and the MCC Dance Company as a guest DJ hypes up the crowd, and 3-point and dunk contests with bragging rights and coveted awards on the line. Multiple performances by the nationally-recognized dance company are also planned along with a showcase of talent from the McLennan baseball, golf and softball squads.

Both events are free and open to the public. Food trucks will also be available from 5-7 p.m. In the event of rainy weather, Trunk or Treat will move to the Highlander Parking Garage so everyone can enjoy the Halloween fun.
