Curriculum

The PTA program is a two-year associate degree program consisting of 5 academic courses and 14 PTA courses. For detailed information about the program please see our Fact Sheet.

Academic Courses: The following courses may be taken before admission to the program. Students are STRONGLY encouraged to complete all academic courses prior to applying to the PTA program.

  • BIOL 2401 Anatomy & Physiology I
  • BIOL 2402 Anatomy & Physiology II
  • ENGL 1301 Composition I
  • PSYC 2314 Human Growth & Development
  • PHIL 2306 or other Language, Philosophy, Culture or Creative Arts Elective (humanities)
*Note: As Anatomy and Physiology are foundational for the practice of physical therapy, the Anatomy and Physiology courses cannot be more than 5 years old at the time the student applies to the PTA program.
