Clinical Practice

As a part of the Health Information Technology program, students must complete a number of hours in a supervised clinical practice.

These hours will be obtained during the final semester. Students must be able to travel to the assigned clinical sites. Transportation expenses are the student's responsibility. The program currently utilizes clinical sites within a 200-mile radius of Waco.

Professional liability insurance is required of all students prior to beginning the first clinical practice. The insurance is purchased through the college when the student registers for HITT 2261. Students are encouraged to have personal health insurance as well.

Students must provide documentation of a current physical examination, current immunizations, Tuberculosis skin test or chest x-ray, drug screen, and criminal background checks prior to beginning the first clinical practice. Associated expenses are the responsibility of the student.
