      Accounting – Bachelor of Business  Administration (BBA)

      For students preparing to become certified public accountants, the Public Accountancy Act of 1991 requires that applicants must have completed at least a baccalaureate degree and not fewer than 150 semester credit hours of recognized courses. Courses included in this degree plan are accepted towards this requirement. This degree is a 120 hour degree consisting of core curriculum requirements, 24 hours of additional business related courses, and 54 hours of TSU upper level required accounting and College of Business Administration courses.

      Business – Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences

      Appropriate option for students who complete the MCC Business Management Associates Degree and/or who have applicable business-related technical/vocational coursework, certifications, or training. The student can qualify for up to 24 hours of college credit toward the bachelor degree for approved occupation specialization experience.

      Business Administration – Bachelor of Science in Applied Science

      Triple emphasis: a broad-based education through the MCC Core Curriculum; up to 36 college semester hours credit of technical training (work experience not eligible) from most any technical discipline that can be transferred into the program; and a focused development in business knowledge in upper level courses. This degree will be valuable if you want to work in a business area related to your academic discipline and technical expertise.

      Manufacturing and Industrial Management, Engineering Technology – Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences

It allows the student the opportunity to take advantage of up to 36 hours of occupational specialization for such previous training.

    • Criminal Justice

      Criminal Justice – Bachelor of Applied Arts and Sciences

      Allows students to apply Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) training hours and approved occupational specialization toward the program for university credit. Junior and senior level Tarleton State University coursework includes a focus on criminology, juvenile delinquency criminal evidence, homeland security, ethics, and other applicable areas in the field of criminal justice.

      Criminal Justice – Bachelor of Science

      Complete two years at MCC in the Criminal Justice program, then transfer directly into the Tarleton Bachelor Degree. Potential career options include: police and sheriff's departments, prisons and correctional facilities, public safety, alcoholic beverage control, parks and wildlife, crime bureaus, juvenile agencies, and investigative departments. On the federal level, criminal justice graduates may work in border patrol, customs, drug enforcement, or immigration and naturalization.

      Health Professions Technology – Bachelor of Applied Technology

      This degree is intended to serve as a bridge program from an Associate's to a Bachelor's degree. The Health Professions Technology (HPT) program is designed for certified/licensed allied health practitioners who have earned an Associate's degree and who desire/require further education for professional development or personal satisfaction.       Nursing, LVN to BSN – Bachelor of Science

      Designed to allow licensed vocational nurses to obtain the BSN degree in the most streamlined manner possible. Once students have completed their LVN certification, 59 hours of prerequisite requirements, and have gained admission to Tarleton, application to the Tarleton Department of Nursing is required. The application, which is to be submitted to the University Center, may be found here.

    • Liberal Arts

      Applied Science with Psychology Concentration – Bachelor of Science in Applied Science

      Allows students to expand their knowledge base by completing course work representing the foundational subfields of psychology. Students will complete junior and senior level coursework in several broad areas within the field of psychology: developmental, cognitive, personality/abnormal, social, and neuropsychology. In addition to this upper level coursework, students will complete their broad-based education through the MCC core curriculum, and transfer up to 36 semester hours of occupational specialization in approved vocational areas of study.

      Designed for students who have completed numerous advanced credit hours but not met requirements for a major and degree in an academic area.     • Social Work

      Social Work – Bachelor of Social Work (BSW)

      Prepares graduates for licensure opportunities for the State of Texas as a qualified social worker. With a BSW degree, students may pursue careers in areas such as substance abuse programs, mental health facilities, community action and domestic violence services. A 2.5 overall GPA is required for entrance into the College of Social Work.

      BUSINESS

      Prepares students for both public and private practice situations and addresses all Texas Board of Public Accountancy requirements. Topics of study include ethics, auditing, income tax, accounting theory, financial statement analysis, and many others.

      Criminal Justice – Master of Criminal Justice (MCJ)

      A professional track curriculum designed in consultation with criminal justice professionals. A combination of face-to-face and on-line courses provides an opportunity for students to complete the program and balance full-time employment. The program presents graduates with academic studies coupled with the management and leadership skills necessary to advance in the competitive field of criminal justice.

      Educational Administration with Principal Certification and Post-Master's Principal Certification and Superintendent Certification – Master of Education (MED)

      Designed to prepare administrators for a variety of roles and responsibilities. The Principal's Certificate qualifies one to hold campus-level administrative positions in the school, including the principalship.

      Many students, after successfully completing a Principal Certification Program will opt to continue on to the Superintendency Certification Program. This is an additional 15 hours.

      INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

      Information Systems – Master of Science

      Designed to develop student skills as an information systems professional. Includes coursework relating to telecommunications, systems analysis, database management, and research methods in information systems. Upon completion of the coursework, a comprehensive exam must be satisfactorily completed.

      PSYCHOLOGY - MENTAL HEALTH

      Clinical Mental Health Counseling – Master of Science

      Allows students to obtain the Licensed Professional Counselor designation. Includes options in counseling psychology and marriage and family. Curriculum includes career counseling and guidance, psychopathology, group therapy and human development.

      SOCIAL WORK

      Social Work - Master of Social Work (MSW)

      Provides advanced training toward helping others and promoting individual and social well-being. Includes a hands-on learning approach and evidenced-based practice methods. Foundation, Clinical and Community Organization/Administration concentrations are available. Applicants must hold a bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university and a minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.00. They must have a BSW to enter the one year advanced standing program.

      Tarleton State University's Master of Social Work program has achieved Candidacy for Accreditation by the Council on Social Work Education's Commission on Accreditation.

        Allows students to customize a degree that compliments their technical studies background. Choose two concentration areas of upper-level coursework which blend with up to 36 hours of occupational specialization training.         Restaurant, Hotel, and Institutional Management – Bachelor of Applied Arts & Sciences

        Presents a wide variety of experience in hotel and restaurant operations, preparing students for the ever-changing world of tourism and travel. This option allows for customization to compliment a student's technical studies background. Students complete their Associate of Applied Sciences (AAS) degree plus core curriculum requirements with MCC. A total of 33 semester hours of occupational specialization from an AAS degree related to culinary arts, hospitality managerial areas, and facilities management will be awarded within this degree choice. Upper level coursework will focus on various aspects of the restaurant and hospitality industry, including but not limited to sales, marketing, customer relations, leadership, finance, and more.

        Communication Studies – Bachelor of Arts

        The study of effective communication, which is critical in any career field. Provides specialized training and skills tailored to various situations. Will focus not only on oral and written communication skills, but on critical thinking, developing creativity, and learning how to negotiate and collaborate in various situations.

        Digital Media and Professional Communication – Bachelor of Arts

        Texas Tech University offers the Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media and Professional Communications degree. Students who complete this degree option will learn excellent skills allowing them to excel within the growing digital media and communications industry. Areas of study include but are not limited to specialized writing skills designed for communicating and advertising in a global society, communications theory and research, advertising creativity and sales.

      • Education

        Education, Middle Level ELAR – Bachelor of Science

        This concentration within the B.S. in Education is designed primarily for individuals seeking teacher certification in grades four to eight. Degree plans leading to the different certificates will include subject area coursework and a sequence of four semesters of professional education courses (including two student teaching semesters). All courses include field experiences scheduled outside of class time. Due to the nature of the program and state requirements, the start and end schedule may vary from the university schedule. Students are required to begin student teaching on the first day of their assigned district's K-12 calendar.

        Education, Multidisciplinary Studies, Middle Level Certification, MATH – Bachelor of Science

        Designed to lead to a teacher certification in mathematics for grades four through eight. Includes 24 hours of mathematics requirements in addition to educational teacher preparation and secondary teaching experiences. Internship and student teaching both completed in Waco. Appropriate scores on the Texas Examinations for Educators Standards (TExES) exam required upon beginning the teaching career.

        Anthropology – Bachelor of Arts

        The anthropology program reflects the broad scope of the discipline, including the three subfields of archaeology, ethnology, and biological anthropology. International and/or regional field schools in all three areas are highlights of the curriculum, and well-equipped laboratory facilities support faculty and student research in all three subfields.

        English – Bachelor of Arts

        The Department of English strives to develop the reading and writing skills of students, increase their understanding of contemporary discourse and literary heritage, and strengthen their creative and analytical abilities through excellence in research, teaching and service.         Allows students to obtain either a bachelor of arts or bachelor of science by selecting three concentrations provided by Texas Tech. Academic advisors assist students in choosing a combination of concentrations to achieve their educational goals. Students pursuing this degree also have the ability to become certified in various teaching areas should they opt to do so.

        Writing, Design, and Technical Communication– Bachelor of Arts

        Provides students a broad liberal arts background and intensive training in the principles and practices of technical communication. It will prepare students for careers as technical communicators, editors, grant writers, website developers, information architects, and publications managers in a variety of professional domains, including publishing, education, government, health care, biology, chemistry, physics, and engineering.         Public Administration – Master Degree

        Delivers professional knowledge in specialized areas of public management and non-profit management for students seeking to enter the field or public administrators seeking to excel in their already established careers. Coursework will focus on management, leadership, public policy, and analytic skills.

  • Texas Tech Health Sciences Center
    • Healthcare Management – Bachelor of Science

      Allows students to transfer hours from an approved AAS degree in addition to core curriculum coursework taken with MCC.


      Students will work with the TTUHSC academic advisor to pursue one of two degree options. The Healthcare Professional concentration includes options for certified radiology technologists, emergency medical services, respiratory care practitioners, occupational therapy assistants, physical therapy assistants, licensed vocational nurses, and clinical laboratory technicians. TTUHSC also has the Executive Management concentration. Upper level coursework for this pathway highlights management, leadership, and quality assurance issues which take place within the healthcare setting.

    • Nursing, RN to BSN – Bachelor of Science

      Students may earn their RN while enrolled in coursework with MCC and then apply to the TTUHSC School of Nursing RN to BSN program. Courses are available online, and the program can be completed with 30 semester hours of upper-level credit.

  • Midwestern State University
    • Respiratory Care, RRT to BSRC – Bachelor of Science

      Students who have completed their respiratory care technology training with MCC now have the option to complete a Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care. Once a student has completed the RRT examination administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care, they may submit credentialing verifications to Midwestern State University, complete their core curriculum at MCC, and then finish 32 upper level hours with MSU in order to complete their BSRC. All courses for this degree are taught through MSU online.

  • University of Texas Medical Branch/Galveston
    • Clinical Laboratory Science – Bachelor of Science

      Allows MCC graduates with an Associate of Applied Science in Medical Laboratory Technology to transfer their credits directly into the UTMB Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science degree. Students completing this program could find employment by filling a critical need in health care facilities all over Texas. Program.
