Concept Based Curriculum
The MCC ADN Program actively participates in the Texas Nursing Concept-Based Curriculum Consortium.
Our faculty practice active teaching and learning approaches in the classroom, labs, simulation, and clinical settings. Students can expect to complete reading and other preparatory assignments before entering any learning environment so students can apply what they have learned. This practice facilitates critical thinking and clinical reasoning, clinical judgment, and sound nursing decision making. Our concept-based, experiential curriculum also lends itself to developing a professional identity in nursing.
You can find concept distributions and definitions in our student handbook.
