Auctioneer Academy
The McLennan Community College Auctioneer Academy is an 80-hour course designed to teach participants the skills necessary to act as an auctioneer, conduct auctions and operate an auction company. Participants will learn how to conduct auctioneering in a professional and ethical manner. Participants will also discover the skills needed to perform the auction chant and how to address the public confidently and effectively. In addition, the MCC Auctioneer Academy will emphasize the importance of acting in accordance with federal, state, and local auction laws. The academy is approved by the Texas Department of Licensing and Registration (T.D.L.R.).

- Dates: February 15 - 22, 2025
- Cost: $850 (including books and fees)
- Time: 8:00 a.m. - 6:30 p.m.

Texas Auctioneer License Requirements
In order to obtain an auctioneer's license, candidates must:
- be at least 18 years of age
- be a citizen of the United States or a legal alien
- have a high school diploma or GED
- not have been convicted of a felony within five years of the application date
- individuals with a criminal history should complete a TDLR Criminal History Evaluation to obtain a Determination of Eligibility
- complete of at least 80 hours of classroom instruction at an approved auction school
