About: Dr. Staci Taylor works at McLennan Community College as the Director of the Center for Teaching and Learning. She has been employed at MCC since 2005 and previously worked at Tarleton State University in their Distance Education department. Staci has been an adjunct instructor at MCC in both the Management and Computer departments and at Tarleton State University in their Management and Education departments. Dr. Taylor received her Bachelor of Science degree in Administrative Systems and her Master of Science degree in Management from Tarleton State University. In addition, she completed her doctoral degree in Leadership in Higher Education Administration at the University of Mary-Hardin Baylor. Her dissertation title was Community College Developmental Students: Their Success and Completion of Online Courses. Staci is a reviewer for the Journal of Social Media in Society and a member of the American Society for Training and Development.

About: John brings a wealth of experience in K-12 education, both in and out of the classroom, to the Instructional Design and Innovation department. He received his undergraduate degree in Multimedia Applications from McMurry University and his Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Sam Houston State University. As an Instructional Designer, John is dedicated to helping instructors create engaging and accessible online courses. In his free time, John enjoys volunteering with his church, traveling to Colorado, and spending time with his wife and daughter.

About: With almost nine years of experience in K-12 education, Claire brings a strong background to the Instructional Design and Innovation department. She received both her Bachelor's and Master's degrees from Tarleton State University, with a focus in Interdisciplinary Studies and Curriculum & Instruction, respectively. As an Instructional Designer, Claire is dedicated to assisting instructors in adopting best practices and promoting good course design. In her leisure time, she enjoys spending time with her husband, engaging in hobbies such as baking and photography, and traveling to visit her parents at their ranch in East Texas.

About: With over seven years of experience in education, Krystal Garcia brings a wealth of knowledge to the Instructional Design and Innovation department, having worked at various levels of education. She joined MCC in 2024 as an English adjunct, where she cultivated a passion for supporting student success through engaging and innovative teaching methods. Krystal holds a Bachelor’s degree in Education and a Master’s degree in English, with a strong focus on fostering effective and meaningful learning experiences. As an Instructional Designer, she is dedicated to collaborating with instructors to implement best practices and design student-centered courses. Outside of work, Krystal enjoys baking, reading, and spending time with her husband and two daughters.




Instructional Technologist: TJ Waldie

About: Timothy Waldie, also known as TJ, joined MCC in April 2021, where he served as an employee in the Testing Center. During his time there, he developed strong relationships with faculty from across the campus and gained a thorough understanding of the various technologies utilized in the classroom. TJ has a wealth of experience working with technology, having served as a computer repair technician, Microsoft Expert in the retail industry, and now as the Instructional Technologist for MCC. In this role, TJ is responsible for supporting faculty with all aspects of their online courses. This includes troubleshooting issues on an individual basis, ensuring smooth course creation and enrollment for both students and faculty, and being available to assist whenever needed. TJ is currently pursuing a degree in Information Systems and Applications through MCC in order to continue serving his community and faculty to the best of his ability.
