In-Person Advising

Important: Before you meet with an advisor, please make sure you have submitted all required documents including your transcript(s), test scores, and shot record (immunization for bacterial meningitis).

To meet with an advisor in person, stop by Advising & Career Services, on the 2nd floor of the Student Services building, Suite 211, during regular business hours.

New Students

Plan to spend 45 minutes to 1 hour at your first meeting with an advisor. All new students will have their first advising meeting in Advising & Career Services.

Transfer and Pre-Health Professions Students

Student meeting with advisor All Associate of Arts (AA) and Associate of Science (AS) majors, along with students who are pre-health professions, transferring, and/or an undecided major, will be advised through Advising & Career Services.

Planning to transfer to Tarleton State at MCC's University Center? Join them for Walk-In Wednesdays. Go to the Tarleton State offices in the MAC building to ask about Tarleton State degrees and get transfer information, or call them at (254) 299-8322 to schedule an appointment.

Workforce Students

Students seeking certificates or degrees in a workforce program (AAS), please refer to the Advisor Guide to find your advisor and their contact information.

Please note: ALL NEW STUDENTS need to be seen by Advising & Career Services before meeting with their specific advisor.

Non-Degree Seeking, Summer-Only, or Minimester-Only Students

If you attend another college, such as Baylor, and want to take classes at MCC during the Winter Minimester, May Minimester, or Summer only, you may qualify as a Non-Degree Seeking student. To qualify, you must have attended another college during the previous long semester.

Non-Degree Seeking students do not need advisor approval. However, you must:

  • Submit your most recent college transcript
  • Meet all course prerequisites.

Please note: Non-Degree Seeking students are not eligible for financial aid and must follow the payment deadlines listed in the MCC Calendar.

If you want to provide additional information to the advising office before getting advised in-person or virtually through Zoom, please fill out the Student Information Form. Once you have submitted the form, the advising office will contact you within two business days.

Hours of Operation

Summer Hours: May 11th - Aug. 7th

  • Monday-Thursday: 7:30 am-5 pm
  • Fridays: Closed, except for July 10, on which we will be open 8 am-5 pm 
  • On Wednesdays, from 8-9:30 am, advising is closed for the weekly staff meeting.
