What Proxy (FERPA Release) Form Authorizes
The Proxy (FERPA Release) form only gives permission to share a student’s educational information. It allows the person named on the form to:

Review and inspect the student’s educational records.

Receive information from those records (such as grades, disciplinary records, or financial aid status).

Discuss the contents of the records with school officials.
What a Proxy (FERPA Release) Does Not Authorize
The form does not give the proxy of legal authority or ability to act on the student’s behalf. The proxy may not:

Enroll the student in courses.

Request drops or withdrawals.

Act for the student in academic or disciplinary matters.

Use or access the student’s email account.

Submit student-related forms, including:

Transcript Requests
-
Student Data Change forms that change students biographical or contact information

Prerequisite waiver requests

Any other forms that require student action.
