- Where will I access my classes?
- Howe do I login?
You will login to Brightspace at the following web address: https://brightspace.mclennan.edu/d2l/login. Use the following credentials to login:
Username: first initial 1st name, first initial last name and 7 digit ID number (i.e. Jon Doe 0123456 = jd0123456)
Password: Same password as your student email/MyMCC
- When will I get access to my courses?
Although some instructors do open their courses early, typically you will not be able to access your online courses until the first class day. If this is your first semester at MCC, you may not be able to access Brightspace until the week before classes start. Don’t worry though. You will be able to access your account by the first day of class.

- Will I be using Zoom?
Some instructors do require you to use Zoom. Email your instructor if you have questions about whether you will need to meet through Zoom. If your instructor is going to use Zoom, here is what you need to know:
- Your instructor will provide a link to access Zoom. You can use a computer and/or a personal device to access the video conference.
- When you click the link, you will be prompted to download/open Zoom.
- Follow the prompts to join the Zoom session.
- Joining a Zoom Meeting Using an Invitation or a link.
- Joining a Zoom Meeting with a Meeting ID.
- If you have trouble, don’t hesitate to contact Tech Support.
- How will my instructor communicate with me?
You can expect to communicate with your instructor through email, through Zoom, and/or through Brightspace announcements. Make sure you check your MCC Student Email frequently. Additionally, your instructor will probably post important information in the announcements section within Brightspace. To view announcements, simply login to your course. The announcements are usually displayed on the course home page. Don’t forget to set your notification preferences to receive notifications when an announcement is posted.
