ISD Materials
- Courses Eligible for Dual Credit
The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board requires that courses offered for dual credit meet these criteria:
- The course is listed under either in the current Academic Course Guide Manual (ACGM) or the current Workforce Education Course Manual (WECM).
- The course must be one the college is currently offering (in the college's "course inventory").
- The course must NOT be developmental or remedial.
- To be eligible for dual credit, a course must fall into one of these categories: McLennan core curriculum, foreign language, a WECM course, active field of study curriculum, active program of study curriculum, or one of these ACGM rubrics: ACCT, AGRI, ARCH, BCIS, BUSI, COSC, CRIJ, ENGR, ENGT, FORE, FORS, HORT, RNSG.
PHED courses are not eligible for dual credit.
For assistance determining whether a particular college course would be a good match for a high school course, please see McLennan's college course syllabi. If additional information is needed to make a determination, please contact the dual credit liaison to request more detailed syllabi and/or other materials.
- Workforce v. Academic Dual Credit
Academic Dual Credit courses typically transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Students taking these courses often plan to pursue a four-year degree after high school graduation. Courses listed in the Academic Course Guide Manual (ACGM) are eligible for academic dual credit.
Workforce Dual Credit courses may or may not transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Students taking these courses often plan to enroll in a certificate or two-year degree program. Courses listed in the Workforce Education Course Manual (WECM) are eligible for workforce dual credit.
- Semester Grades
High schools will receive an unofficial transcript for each High School Pathways student at the end of the semester, typically the week after final exams. The unofficial transcript will include the letter and numeric grades.
