The Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board requires that courses offered for dual credit meet these criteria:
- The course is listed under either in the current Academic Course Guide Manual (ACGM) or the current Workforce Education Course Manual (WECM).
- The course must be one the college is currently offering (in the college's "course inventory").
- The course must NOT be developmental or remedial.
- To be eligible for dual credit, a course must fall into one of these categories: McLennan core curriculum, foreign language, in a state-approved Field of Study curriculum, or a course in the WECM applicable to an industry-based credential, certificate, or associate degree.
PHED courses are not eligible for dual credit.
For assistance determining whether a particular college course would be a good match for a high school course, please see McLennan's college course syllabi. If additional information is needed to make a determination, please contact the dual credit liaison to request more detailed syllabi and/or other materials.
