Hospitality Management
Have you never met a stranger?
Does the idea of traveling the world sound exciting?
Do you love taking care of people?
Then consider a career in the hospitality industry. We are all about taking care of people! Jobs include management of hotels, restaurants, attractions, convention centers, cruise ships and tourism bureaus, to name a few. With the aging of the baby boomers, even assisted living residences are turning to hospitality professionals for managing their facilities.
The world of hospitality is a dynamic and energetic one. Your office door may open up to a bustling hotel lobby, a crowded cozy cafe or a sunny upper deck — welcome to your work environment!
Job Outlook
The tour and travel industry is the largest in the world and continues to grow. Here in Texas, from 2014 to 2015, the leisure and hospitality sector experienced the second largest employment growth among all other industries. The local Workforce Board's in-demand occupations list shows an estimated 33.3 percent growth in lodging managers between 2010 and 2020. Waco's hotel community continues to develop with new properties, all in need of superior and professional talent.
