Admissions & Marketing Subcommittee Minutes

- Updates since the last meeting
- Registration drive – recruiters hosted in the ESC at the end of June to encourage students to register early – had 15 or 20 that entered the drawing – got a lot of traffic- they are holding it again next week (Aug 1-5) and are doing some additional outreach this time to hopefully reach more students
- AEL just had graduate and moved back to CSC
- New Business
- Tuition Reimbursement Program planning
- Sell package of workforce training to businesses and then tuition reimbursement for employee
- Use Career Services Component
- Think of ways that we can partner with businesses that are exclusive to tuition reimbursement with MCC.
- Tuition Reimbursement Program next steps
- look at businesses and develop websites
- Add someone from career services to the committee Consider inviting business leaders out to campus
- Bridging AEL students to further education
- AEL has developed pathways for their students that credits will roll into a degree plan if they enroll into MCC. They currently have three that completed the first class and passed. AEL will pay for tuition for them moving forward and they have others who are working on other certificates and once they finish they will have classes that will transfer. This program started in May.
- Testing center now is offering GED testing
- Five people have been awarded GED scholarship – three have accepted it.
- Discussed ways we can continue the transition into MCC for these students (application and FAFSA workshops, Outreach, recruiters visiting classrooms)
