MCC offering returning student grants

April 21, 2022

Students affected by COVID-19, who wish to start or restart their education at McLennan Community College may be eligible for grants of $500-2500 per semester through the College’s Returning Student Grant program. The program, funded by the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board (THECB), aims to help students that stopped attending classes at any college due to the pandemic and would like to continue their education, and complete a certificate or associate degree.

To be eligible, students may be either a returning college student who has not been enrolled in college for at least six months or one long semester, or be a high school graduate that has a six-month or one long semester gap between high school graduation and MCC enrollment. Eligible students must also be a Texas resident eligible for in-state tuition; file a FAFSA; enroll in one of over 70 qualified programs; and have affirmed they were affected by COVID-19.

Individuals interested in benefiting from the program should complete the online application at www.mclennan.edu/returning. Funds distributed through the program do not require repayment.
