Ensembles

The primary focus of the MCC Music Department is making music.

Both music majors and non-music majors experience live music performance through participation in music ensembles, private instruction, and a variety of public performances.

In addition to our Student Recital Series, concerts are scheduled throughout the year. The 350-seat Wilbur A. Ball Performing Arts Center is home to many of these performances. Additionally, MCC ensembles perform throughout Central Texas in collaboration with many other musical ensembles including groups from Baylor University, the Waco Community Band, the Waco Symphony, and the University of Mary Hardin Baylor.

  • Choral

All choirs require a placement audition that consists of sightreading and vocalizing. No solos are required for placement. All choirs generally travel to area schools and other locations off campus for special concerts. The choirs all sing a cappella and accompanied music of classical, folk, spirituals, vocal jazz and pop styles, and especially enjoy singing diverse music in many foreign languages.
