Public Information Requests
The Texas Public Information Act, Chapter 552 of the Government Code, gives the public the right to request an opportunity to inspect or obtain copies of public records from the governmental body, like McLennan Community College (MCC), that maintains the information requested. The request must be in writing and for information already in existence. A governmental body (MCC) is not required to answer questions, perform legal research, or create new information in response to public information requests.
