Highlander Undergraduate Research Institute
The Highlander Undergraduate Research Institute (HURI) was established in 2011 to promote student success by creating a culture of undergraduate research that will foster interactive student learning through discovery and exploration.
HURI encourages undergraduate student achievement in many ways, including supporting instructors in the development of case studies, sponsoring student poster sessions and providing multiple types of research in classroom settings.
HURI extends across all academic disciplines to encourage interdisciplinary interest, research and collaborations.
Research Options
Students can participate in and learn to conduct research in a variety of ways:
- Enroll in courses with embedded research
- Enroll in travel-based research courses
- Enroll in Academic Cooperative courses
For all of these options, students conduct independent/collaborative research on many different topics.
