Summer 2021 Highest Honors Graduates

Congratulations to all of the McLennan Community College’s Highest Honor graduates!

Lisa Adele Carter

General Academics

Lisa Adele Carter

Lisa Adele Carter is receiving an Associate of Applied Science in General Business this evening. In attendance to celebrate with her are her son, DeQuan, and husband, Gordon. Her parents, siblings, and extended family members are celebrating from home while watching the livestream.

While attending McLennan, Lisa worked as an instructional aide with Waco ISD.

When asked about what influenced her success at MCC, Lisa says, “The need for better employment opportunities motivated me to complete this degree. Working and studying at the same time took a toll on me both physically and mentally, but I wanted my son to see that persistence equals success. The support I received from God, my son DQ, my husband Gordon, the best advisor ever (Mr. Boyce Wilson), and some great professors, helped me to complete this degree and accomplish this achievement.”

Lisa plans to further her education but has not decided yet at which institution.

Kendall Grace Lowe

Kendall Grace Lowe is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics this evening. In attendance to celebrate with her are her mother, Lisa Lowe, and grandfather, Roger Thompson.

When asked about what influenced her success at MCC, Kendall says, “I was motivated to pursue academic success by my desire to make my family proud, fully utilize the opportunities I’ve been granted, and pursue the education of my dreams.”

Kendall plans to further her education at the University of Texas at Austin.

Walter John Rusek, III

Walter John Rusek, III is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Academics this evening. Celebrating with him tonight are his parents, Walter and Dawn Rusek, sister, Mary, and aunt, Angie Hammond.

Walter plans to further his education at Tarleton State University at Waco through MCC’s University Center.

Nicholas Samson Webb

Nicholas Samson Webb is receiving an Associate of Arts in General Studies this evening. Celebrating with him tonight are his father, mother, sister, grandparents, and girlfriend.

When asked about what influenced him success at MCC, Nicholas says, “My high school biology teacher taught me to love science and learning. Because of him, I strive to always be the best I can be. I hope to use what he taught me to make the world a better place. My parents always encouraged me to work hard and help people, and I plan on honoring that with my education.”

Nicholas plans to further his education at the University of Texas at Austin.
