Student Message - Sept. 15
I hope that your Fall semester has started well and you are adjusting to the new ways we must do things to keep everyone safe. I thought it may be a good time for a reminder of the health and safety protocols that we have in place for our campus community.
- Face coverings are required to be worn in all College buildings and when outside in the presence of others where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. (Policy E-XXXXI)
- If you are coming to campus, you must conduct a daily self-assessment to review exposure and symptoms. (Self-Assessment Form)
- If you have any symptoms or have potential exposure, we ask that you not come to class and that you self-report. A College representative will contact you to assist with guidance on how to continue in your classes. (Self-Reporting Form)
- An online guide is available that provides important information and steps to take for various scenarios related to COVID-19 exposure and testing. (Exposure & Testing)
- Cleaning supplies for wiping down your desks/workspaces and additional hand sanitizer are available in classrooms. Enhanced cleaning is taking place each night by our custodians to ensure classrooms and common spaces are properly sanitized.
- Additional hand sanitizer stations have been added all around the campus. Please use these to practice good hand hygiene.
- The College COVID-19 webpage has a student resources link with additional helpful information.
- The College COVID-19 webpage now includes a dashboard where we are providing daily information about our total positive cases, daily positive cases, and active cases.
Apparently, we are going to be in this environment for quite a while. The health and safety of our campus community is the responsibility of all of us. If we all follow these procedures and practices, we believe the campus can be a safe environment for all of us. We need you to help promote healthy behaviors on and off campus. Following all of the COVID-19 guidelines will help mitigate the spread of the virus and keep the McLennan Community College campus open. Unfortunately, the decisions of a few people to ignore health guidelines could have major consequences for us all. We must each take responsibility and do this Together!
