Student Update August 10
Hello Students,
In just a couple of weeks, we will look forward to welcoming you back for what will be a unique year. We are committed to your success and are working hard to prepare for the upcoming semester.
We want to take this opportunity to update you on what you can expect as far as class formats and technology for the Fall semester. Most courses will be taught in a blended format, which means part of the instruction will occur face-to-face and part will occur online, but we do have many traditional face-to-face and fully online course options available. You may continue to change your schedule to full online if you choose. Having the ability to access our online course management system (Brightspace) is critical for all class formats as well.
As we know, the COVID-19 pandemic is not predictable, and there is the possibility that any of your classes will need to move to an online format. Classes that will meet face-to-face will do so with appropriate social distancing practices in the classrooms. We plan to continue to offer all student support services, both online and on campus, to serve all students.
The plan is to provide safe educational spaces on campus. Classrooms will be cleaned and sanitized on a daily basis by the McLennan custodial staff. Students will have access to disinfecting wipes and hand sanitizer in all classrooms and around campus and will also clean their work spaces. Faculty and students will be required to wear a face covering at all times while in the classroom.
For more information, please review What to Expect when Returning. For more information about all of our efforts to prepare for the Fall and our general response to the COVID-19 pandemic, visit the MCC & COVID-19 webpage. Together, we will help you reach your educational goals during this unprecedented time.
