Employee Update - May 26, 2021

 

Dear Employees,

Well . . . progress continues that leads us toward a life that resembles what we knew before the middle of March 2020.  I am happy to announce that under the guidance of Frank Patterson, McLennan’s Director of Emergency & Risk Management and with support of the Leadership Team, on May 20, 2021, we moved into Phase 6 of our “Return to Campus Plan.” Specific information on the phases is available on McLennan’s COVID-19 website.  Below is a summary of changes that we have made over the last few weeks which are part of Phase 6:

  • Staffing and scheduling patterns have returned to pre-pandemic practices.
  • The Emergency Sick Leave and Emergency Personal Leave policies have been discontinued.
  • Face masks on campus are no longer required for vaccinated individuals but are recommended for non-vaccinated individuals.
  • The campus facilities will be available on June 1 for external organizations to reserve as they did prior to the pandemic.
  • Standard classroom practices have resumed with safety measures taken in the arrangement of students/chairs at least 3-feet apart.
  • Any official employee or student travel is permitted but must be pre-approved by a Vice President or the President.
  • Student support will continue to be available both face-to-face and online.
  • All modes of instruction are available with minimal or no restrictions to face-to-face courses with the exception of the previously mentioned 3-feet distance between individuals/chairs.

As always, the Leadership Team and Emergency Operations Center have carefully considered each phase and the protocols to be practiced in each phase. While some of our practices have changed, we will continue following College protocols to self-assesses daily, and to self-report and be tested if showing COVID-19 symptoms.
