District 7 Applications 2023-34

McLennan Community College (MCC) Board of Trustees officially announced the resignation of District 7 Board member, Geneva Watley, at the December 6, 2023 board meeting. The resignation will be effective January 1, 2024.

The Board of Trustees is now accepting applications from candidates interested in seeking appointment for the vacated District 7 position.

District 7 includes the following precincts: 51 (partial), 55, 62, 63 (partial), 75, 76, 77, 78 (partial), 79, and 80. View the District's map of precincts. 

The criteria to hold the office of trustee includes:

• One must be a qualified voter.
• Hold residency in the state of Texas for at least 12 months before the day on which the appointment is made.
• Reside in District 7 for six months before the day on which the appointment is made.
• Serve without compensation.
• Take the proper oath of office before taking up the duties thereof.

The person appointed to fill the unexpired term by the board of trustees for District 7 will serve until the expiration of the term in May 2025.

Interviews with the current board of trustees will take place Feb. 12,  and the consideration and appointment of the new member will take place at the Board meeting Feb. 27.
