The Psychological Services Bureau (PSB) examination is specifically designed for those students entering education programs for health professions and is used as part of the admissions process for MCC's ADN program. MCC offers two ways to take this exam. In-person at MCC (Client Proctored) or off-campus at a Pearson Vue testing location (Pearson Proctored). The PSB Exam is comprised of a series of tests that measure abilities, knowledge, and attitudes considered important for successful performance in a health program.

Examinees taking the PSB exam will test in the following subjects and will be allotted 110 minutes:
    – Academic Aptitude: Includes Verbal, Arithmetic, Nonverbal (90 questions, 30 minutes)
    – Spelling (50 questions, 15 minutes)
    – Reading Comprehension (40 questions, 20 minutes)
    – Natural Science (90 questions, 30 minutes)
    – Vocational Adjustment (90 questions, 15 minutes)

Note: Some individuals may receive experimental questions during their exam. The experimental questions do not count in an individual's score. The max number of experimental questions is 36 with a max additional time of 12 minutes.

The MCC Testing Center works closely with Accommodations (Disability Services) to provide services for students with ADA accommodations. Testing candidates requiring testing accommodations must register first with Accommodations. The registration process with Accommodations should be done in a timely manner to allow enough reasonable time for the Testing Center to prepare all testing accommodations.

Once testing accommodations have been approved, the student must inform the MCC Testing Center of his or her approved testing accommodations, so their RegisterBlast account can be appropriately set-up prior to registering for an exam. Students who do not follow these steps run the risk of not having their testing accommodations for that exam.

See the Requesting Accommodations webpage for process information. See webpage for ACT & SAT, CLEP, and HiSet for information on how to request accommodations for these exams.

Your college or university must submit a Letter of Accommodation to the MCC Testing Center before any testing accommodations will be provided. Email to or fax to 254-299-6200 Attn: Testing Services.

Note: Any student who has approved accommodations and who cannot see or select their approved testing accommodation when registering for an exam should contact the MCC Testing Center immediately and prior to registering for any exams.
