Title IX

Sexual Misconduct

What is Sexual Misconduct

McLennan's General Conduct policy prohibits sexually violent acts, termed "Sexual Misconduct" by McLennan, which can be crimes as well. Sexual misconduct includes non-consensual sexual intercourse, non-consensual sexual contact, sexual exploitation, interpersonal relationship violence, sex/gender-based stalking and sexual harassment.

While McLennan utilizes different standards and definitions than the State of Texas Code, sexual misconduct often overlaps with crimes of rape, sexual assault, sexual harassment, stalking, dating violence and domestic violence. Sex offenses including rape, acquaintance rape, sexual harassment, and other sex offenses (forcible or non-forcible) against any student or employee are prohibited and will not be tolerated. Individuals aware of incidents involving sexual misconduct are encouraged to report the offense immediately to an appropriate campus official and/or campus law enforcement officials.
