MCC continuing to register students for Fall Second 8-Week Courses
Posted: September 3, 2019
Prospective students that missed the registration period for McLennan Community College's traditional 16-week fall class offerings still have a chance to enroll in fall classes with the College's expanded selection of eight-week course sections.
With eight-week courses, students spend the same number of hours in the classroom as they would in traditional 16-week courses, but courses are completed in half the time. The shorter time frame for the courses allows students to focus on two subjects per eight-week session rather than the four or five subjects taken in the traditional 16-week schedule. Studies show that students are more successful when attention is focused on fewer subjects, and they are less likely to get overwhelmed and drop courses. The eight-week offerings also allow more flexibility for scheduling and may allow students to earn a degree faster.
Registration for the Second- 8-Week Courses continues through Oct. 20, and classes begin Oct. 21. Current McLennan students may register 24 hours a day, seven days a week through WebAdvisor. New students should visit www.mclennan.edu/BeAHighlanderto learn how to become a student at McLennan.
