The applications are required for all MCC Foundation Scholarships, Presidential Scholarships, Tartan Scholarships, and First Generation College Student Initiative Scholarships.

- Deadline for part-time students to apply for book scholarships is Nov. 30 Students who will be enrolled part time at McLennan Community College in the spring and summer 2010 semesters have until Nov. 30 to apply for scholarships to pay up to $500 for books per semester. Students must meet the following criteria for the scholarship: be a part-time student enrolled in a minimum of six and a maximum of 11 credit hours at MCC, be enrolled in a degree or certificate program, have a grade point average of at least 2.5, and demonstrate financial need. Scholarship recipients will be required to attend a financial literacy class before the funds will be credited to their account at the MCC bookstore. Applications for the book scholarship, which is the only source of scholarship funds for part-time students at the college, are available at www.mclennan.edu/departments/foundation/schol.html. Hard copies of the application must be turned in to MCC's Financial Aid Office by 6 p.m. on Nov. 30. For more information, contact the MCC Foundation at 299-8604.
- Family Fun Day athletics event is Nov. 21McLennan Community College will host Family Fun Day on Saturday, Nov. 21 at The Highlands gym as the men's and women's basketball teams take on Blinn College. This special event offers free admission for all fans, giveaway items and special concession stand discounts.
- MCC closed for Thanksgiving holiday McLennan Community College will be closed for the Thanksgiving holiday Nov. 25-28. No evening classes will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 24.
- Highlander Ranch riding instructor earns national certificationAimee Edwards, a horseback riding instructor at McLennan Community College's Highlander Ranch, has been selected as a certified clinician with the Certified Horsemanship Association (CHA). In this role, Edwards will be responsible for certifying other riding instructors for CHA.
- Library presents exhibit on McLennan County founderMcLennan Community College's library will display an exhibit titled "McLennans in Peace and War," which features McLennan County founder Neill McLennan and some of his local descendants. The display runs through November.
- MCC offers new opportunity for paralegal studiesStudents who are interested in becoming paralegals have a new training option at McLennan Community College. The school now offers a one-year Certificate of Completion in the Paralegal Program, in addition to the Associate of Applied Science degree option already available to students.
- Cosmetology Department now offering facialsThe Cosmetology Department is now taking appointments for facials.
