GENERAL POSITION DESCRIPTION

To provide responsible staff support to the Community Programs Coordinator in all areas of Community Programs, to include daily operations, work flow, semester schedules, and current and future program areas. Assist Coordinator in developing, marketing and coordinating various new and existing programs. Provide temporary, short-term assistance to Corporate & Professional Training Department and other continuing education departments as necessary and approved.

NOTE: This is a security sensitive position and an appropriate background investigation will be made on applicants being strongly considered for this position.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in, or related to, areas of responsibility.
Experience: Equivalent of more than one year's experience public relations or marketing, development of training programs, businesses, educational, and/or governmental entities, small and large group presentations and traditional and social networking.
License or Certificate: Must have a valid Texas driver's license and be insurable under college automobile policy with an ability to maintain insurability.

Skills to: (6) proficiently use computer programs and software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Outlook, for day-to-day duties; scheduling, organizing documentation, generating reports, creating presentations, etc.; (7) communicate clearly and effectively with peers, supervisors, and given audiences in both oral and written forms; (8) create and implement e-marketing tools and social networking media. Ability to: (9) multi-task and prioritize differing projects and meet time-sensitive deadlines; (10) project, estimate and evaluate operational needs including costs of staffing, supplies and equipment within the confines of allowed budgets and resources; (11) create, innovate and implement a comprehensive marketing campaign designed to target a specific population;
(12) establish and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external contacts in order to gain cooperation and bring effective resolution to issues that may arrive; (13) exhibit and maintain professionalism and ethical work standards; (14) carry out assigned duties and assist in day-to-day operations with minimal supervision; (15) review programs and protocols, make recommendations, problem-solve toward the improvement and expansion of the department and the college as a whole.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Sustained posture or intense attentiveness for prolonged periods. Light lifting (less than 30 lbs.), some walking, pushing, pulling on a regular basis. Unpleasant Exposure Minor Hazard-Moderate exposure to dust, grease, noise, inclement weather, temperature extremes, and unpleasant but not hazardous odors are present. There is occasional exposure to risk controlled by safety precautions. Frequency and severity are limited.
