 Brian Harris is Director of Bands at McLennan Community College in Waco, Texas. Prior to joining the MCC faculty, he taught public school band and was Associate Professor of Music Education at The University of Texas at San Antonio. He holds the Ph.D. in Music Education from The Florida State University, the Master of Music Education from Louisiana State University, and the Bachelor of Music from Samford University.
Performance experience (horn) includes the Würzburg (Germany) Akademisches Orchestra, the Würzburg Bläser Oktett, the Baton Rouge Symphony, the Huntsville (Alabama) Symphony, and the Decatur (Alabama) Chamber Orchestra.
At MCC, Dr. Harris conducts the Wind Symphony, the Waco Area Youth Wind Ensemble, the Waco Community Band, and sponsors the MCC Pep Band. He is author of the Warner Brothers method book "Directional Warm-Ups for Band" and writes the Composers of Great Band Music series for the Texas Bandmasters Association Journal. He has published and presented clinics and research at state and national levels and is a Past President of the Texas Community College Band Directors Association.
